Planning Board approves DiLuigi, Abiomed site plans
Danvers Planning Board approved two major site plans, tying each to new noise and water conditions.
Planning Board · Meeting of June 9, 2026
Danvers Planning Board approved two major site plans, tying each to new noise and water conditions. The board unanimously cleared a roughly 12,397-square-foot freezer building for DiLuigi Foods at 37 Pope's Lane after member Lou George raised a Director of Public Health memo warning that "noise from the equipment condensers will be a concern since this site directly abuts the mobile home park." The board also unanimously approved an addition and parking expansion for Abiomed Inc. at 54 Cherry Hill Drive, rejecting the applicant's request to tie new irrigation into municipal water; planning staffer Josh Morris said "we are certainly not in favor of modifying this condition," a water-conservation rule in place since 2018. Abiomed must now pursue a well or rainwater harvesting for landscaping and fully fence both stormwater basins.
The board also voted to forward Danvers's Housing Production Plan to the Select Board with a favorable recommendation and continued a Maple Street mixed-use hearing to June 23.
