DANVERS — The Danvers Planning Board approved special permits for a fire-recovery addition at Daily Harvest Cafe. The board voted 5-0 to approve design special permits for the High Street restaurant's kitchen and storage addition, then voted 4-0 to grant a waiver preserving its existing outdoor seating. Attorney Nancy McCann, representing owner Brittany Racely, said the project replaces freezer and cooler space lost in an August 2025 fire without adding customer seats.
The board's decision sets a $5,898 transportation mitigation fee tied to 1,966 square feet of new floor area. Member Jim Sears raised concerns about losing three parking spaces, including the site's only handicapped spot, which will be relocated near the entrance. The board also continued reviews of a Maple Street mixed-use project and an Abiomed expansion to June 9.
