Conservation · Meeting of June 25, 2026

DANVERS — The Danvers Conservation Commission voted 3-2 to grant buffer-zone waivers allowing a house and accessory dwelling unit at 267 Center Street. Wetland scientist John Dick, representing applicant John LaCroix, told the board the project uses only 28 percent of the allowable no-disturb impact and 43 percent of the allowable no-build impact on a long-rubble-filled lot with "no record of any enforcement action" or prior permit filing. Abutter Martha Christensen warned regrading could cause water to "pool in the bottom of my yard," though staff said state law bars pushing stormwater onto neighboring land.

The commission also heard a request for determination of applicability at 264 Center Street, where consultant Anthony Gee argued two isolated wetlands are smaller than state maps show; members voted unanimously to continue that hearing to July 9 pending a site visit.
