Select Board · Meeting of August 26, 2026
Danvers Select Board reconsidered two August 18 liquor license suspension votes after a posting error. Chair Dutrochet "Dee" Djoko said Town Counsel advised that the original one-day suspension vote against U.S. Sushi, Inc. (J&J Asian Cuisine and Lounge, 156 Andover Street) and Danvers Cappies, Inc. (Cappies Fine Wine and Spirits, 158 Andover Street) "was not properly placed on the agenda." Only three of five members attended, with Daniel C.
Bennett and Maureen Bernard absent; the reconsideration motion, made and seconded without recorded objection, passed unanimously among members Djoko, Michael D. Bean and Gardner S. Trask III.
The underlying compliance findings were not revisited, and the suspensions cannot currently be enforced until the item is reposted and re-decided on a future agenda.
