Select Board · Meeting of July 28, 2026

DANVERS — The Danvers Select Board voted 4-0 to install Assistant Town Accountant Carly Mannion as interim town accountant starting August 7. The board also voted 4-0 to let the assistant town accountant sign payroll and accounts payable warrants whenever the town accountant is unavailable, after Member Gardner S. Trask III objected that the original language didn't actually require the town accountant to be absent before it kicked in.

"What's the legal authority that gives her that right?" Trask asked. Separately, the board tabled Member Michael D. Bean's plan for a Select Board table and roughly 300 commemorative t-shirts, at about $9 apiece, at the August 9 Falcon Fest fireworks event, citing solicitation rules, an unreviewed design and a nine-day timeline.

An audience member pledged $1,000 toward the shirts before the item was postponed to a future agenda.
