Danvers ZBA continued Lowe's and Home Depot storage expansion hearings to September 14 over years of unaddressed noncompliance.
Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of July 27, 2026
Danvers ZBA continued Lowe's and Home Depot storage expansion hearings to September 14 over years of unaddressed noncompliance. Member John Boughner told Lowe's representative Todd Bartok the company's prior agreement wasn't "worth the paper they're printed on," while Home Depot store manager CJ Burke admitted "we've actually been in violation for quite some time." Lowe's sought roughly 27,000 square feet of added outdoor storage, costing 155 parking spaces seasonally with 74 regained after peak season. Home Depot's online orders grew 40 percent this year, driving a request for 10 more truck and equipment rental stalls.
Neighbors described a July 9 hazmat spill, rodents, and machinery noise past 10 p.m. Separately, the board let a Garden Street owner withdraw a short-term rental use variance and unanimously approved a small Lindall Street addition.
