Zoning Board grants special permit for expanded family housing at Vista Drive.
Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of March 9, 2026
DANVERS — Zoning Board approves special permit for expanded family housing on nonconforming lot. The board voted 5-0 to grant Matthew and Kathleen Seely a Section 9.3 permit for a 1,113-square-foot extended family living area at 16 Vista Drive in the R-2 zone, where 750 square feet is standard; Chair John Boughner and members Ken Jarvinen and Chris Dembowski supported the conversion of an existing structure despite the lot's 15,000-square-foot size falling below the required 20,000 square feet. Alternate Kevin Berich objected that attaching a breezeway would create a two-family appearance and stretch the extended family living bylaw on a nonconforming parcel.
The board also declined to approve February 11 minutes, citing insufficient detail and requesting either significant expansion or a full transcript accompaniment.
