Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of September 14, 2026

Danvers Zoning Board approved Home Depot expansion with strict conditions while rejecting Lowes proposal. The board voted unanimously to permit outdoor storage and sales expansion at 235 Independence Way, imposing an eight-foot fence, landscape plan with trees reaching 20-foot minimum height and surviving two years, and backup-alarm restrictions between 10 PM and 7 AM, with a May 2027 compliance review. All five members voted against a Lowes Home Centers proposal at 153 Andover Street due to noncompliance history and excessive outdoor storage, with applicant Todd Bartok requesting a continuance to October 5.

The board also accepted a withdrawal from 8 Fairview Street and continued two variance requests to September 28.
