Select Board approves hazard mitigation plan and 2026 election procedures.

Danvers Select Board unanimously adopts 427-page Hazard Mitigation Plan and approves 2026 election procedures. Fire Chief Brian Barry presented the plan, required by FEMA for federal disaster relief eligibility, identifying natural hazards including floods, storms, extreme heat, and dam safety. The Board voted 5-0 to permit vote-by-mail for the May 5 annual town election and approved one in-person early voting day on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Separately, the Board voted 4-1 to approve Article 54, a recall election article on the warrant for the February 9, 2026 Special Town Meeting, with Daniel C. Bennett opposed; the Board revised the article language after December 16 discussions.
