DANVERS — Select Board approves conservation alternates and grants alcohol licenses. The board unanimously appointed Andrew McNulty and Michael McCarthy as Conservation Commission Alternates after hearing both candidates' qualifications and commitment to environmental stewardship. Schools Superintendent Dan Bauer secured unanimous approval to withdraw $750,000 from the Special Education Stabilization Fund to cover residential placements and increased service needs, leaving $500,000 in reserves.
The board granted three one-day wine and malt licenses for Danvers Historical Society summer beer garden events at Glen Magna Farms on June 23, July 21, and August 25, with Gardner S. Trask, III abstaining; four-person board unanimously approved transferring a Package Store Wine and Malt Beverage License to Village Food Shop at 37 High Street after hearing resident concerns about potential parking-area public drinking.
