DANVERS — Select Board approves pizza restaurant license transfer; no fault found with SkyZone. The Board voted 5-0 to transfer the Common Victualler License for Johnnie Pizza Danvers Inc. at 67 High Street. The Board also heard from SkyZone General Manager Jen Abrams regarding a January 31 incident in which social-media activity drew 75-100 youths to a glow-night event, resulting in two arrests and mutual-aid response from 15 officers from surrounding communities.
Police Chief reported that since SkyZone implemented increased safety measures, including suspension of glow nights and enhanced security protocols, there have been no further major incidents. The Board also voted 5-0 to reappoint Wally Tipert, citing 35 years of service, to a three-year term on the Board of Registrars, and voted 5-0 to approve the Consent Calendar including gas storage permits for eight businesses and a block party permit for August 1.
