Danvers Select Board approves Arbor Day proclamation and hears Open Space Plan presentation. Chair Maureen Bernard led the five-member board in unanimously adopting the proclamation; two residents urged faster pedestrian safety beacon installation and periodic board reviews. Director Aaron Henry presented a comprehensive rewrite of the Open Space and Recreation Plan incorporating nearly 500 community comments and new objective scoring tools for capital planning, with next steps including Planning Board and Recreation Committee review and a return to the Select Board in 4-6 weeks for final adoption and state submission by end of May.
Town Clerk Catherine S. Ellsworth reported that the May 5 Annual Town Election ballot has most precincts filled except Precinct 4 with one unfilled seat and Precinct 7 with two open seats; the deadline for nomination papers is March 24 at 5:00 p.m.
