Danvers Select Board appointed Conor MacCorkle Town Accountant following a nationwide search. MacCorkle, who spent over ten years in healthcare and municipal finance as Gloucester's CFO and Treasurer/Collector, was selected after a competitive process involving 22 applicants and interview panels from schools, DPW, finance, HR, and the Select Board. The Board voted unanimously.
The Board also voted unanimously to suspend liquor licenses of Kappy's Liquors and J&J Asian Cuisine for one day on August 29, following a July 27 compliance check finding both establishments sold alcohol without verifying identification to an 18-year-old; both had prior violations within the year.
