DANVERS — Select Board unanimously advances 14 warrant articles for May town meeting. Chair Maureen A. Bernard and Members Michael D.
Bean, Daniel C. Bennett, Dutrochet Djoko, and Gardner S. Trask III voted 5-0 on capital and operational appropriations totaling $2.8 million, including $652,000 for building improvements, $500,000 for water treatment plant rehabilitation, and $400,000 for emergency generator replacement.
The Board endorsed Police Chief Lovell's proposal to prohibit virtual currency kiosks following fraud investigations since 2022, and approved a revised bylaw on secondhand goods sales requiring electronic record-keeping and age-based buyer restrictions. Settlement funds of $621,503 from 3M and DuPont will advance PFAS treatment design for Wells 1 and 2.
