River Committee · Meeting of February 19, 2026
DANVERS — River Committee approves January minutes and hears updates on Pope's Landing parking proposal. Matthew Byrne, Chair, presided over the meeting with six members present. Christopher Sanborn, Director of Natural Resources, reported that a revised traffic pattern for Pope's Landing is being developed with the Massachusetts Office of Fishing and Boating Access, with a follow-up meeting expected within the next month; the Fire Chief has confirmed the plan would not impede emergency access.
Sanborn also reported that Kernwood Bridge repairs are complete and on schedule for the summer boating season, dredging sediment-testing planning is progressing, and the Harbormaster's Office has implemented new permitting software, LynxLog, though the permitting timeline may be delayed to allow system adjustments.
