DANVERS — Library trustees approved routine financial reports showing a $726,100.91 ending balance, with the 2027 budget including a 7 percent increase driven by collective bargaining contract negotiations and a 2025 compensation study. Director Noelle Boc proposed a $5,000 cut from general supplies to address town budget concerns. Assistant Head of Reference and Information Services Shilpa Jacobie will depart March 7; her position will be posted internally first, then externally if necessary.
The Seed Library, in its fifth year, recorded a 92 percent take-up rate of 2,246 seed packets last year. A potential Marsh-Pope Family archive donation, identified as possibly the largest family collection in the archives, awaits appraisal.
