Danvers Rail Trail Advisory Committee votes to dissolve following town approval. The five-member committee, meeting January 15, unanimously accepted the town's endorsement of a November 2024 recommendation to wind down after 15 years. The Friends of the Danvers Rail Trail will assume fundraising, volunteer coordination, and maintenance advocacy, while the Danvers Office of Natural Resources continues operations; trail users should see no change in service.
The group approved shifting its spring event from Valentine's Day to Mother's Day on May 9, and invited Cycling Without Age, a nonprofit that operates pedal-powered "tri-shaws" for elderly and mobility-limited riders, to present at a final meeting March 19.
