DANVERS — The Danvers Conservation Commission postponed a wetland jurisdiction decision, ordering a second site visit. Voting 5-0, the commission continued its hearing on 264 Centre Street until July 23 after property owner Dorjan Sulaj's consultant, wetland scientist Anthony Gee, presented evidence that two isolated wetlands fell below the 5,000-square-foot threshold for commission jurisdiction. Members expressed concern about relying solely on the applicant's consultant and the permanent loss of oversight that a negative finding would entail; Member Andrew McNulty wanted to physically inspect soil between wetland depressions, while Member Paul McNulty, absent from the first site visit, pushed for third-party verification over a costlier peer review.
