Danvers Transportation Advisory Committee · Meeting of April 29, 2026
DANVERS — Transportation Advisory Commission ranked three locations for Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacon installations. The Commission applied a prioritization framework based on pedestrian volume, crash history, traffic volume, and roadway geometry, designating Poplar Street at Belgium Street, Maple Street at Forest Street, and Purchase Street at Ash Street as top priorities. Annual funding of approximately $30,000 supports one to two installations per year; equipment has been ordered for the first installation, with completion expected before fiscal 2026 ends.
The Commission also discussed traffic concerns raised by Preston Street residents about increased volume and speeding during morning peak hours and supported one-way circulation improvements at the Senior Center parking area.
