Danvers Conservation Commission approved waivers for a wetland project at 267 Centre Street. The board voted 3-2 to allow an accessory dwelling unit within protected buffer zones after the applicant proposed significant mitigation including debris removal and native vegetation restoration. Board members Michael Splaine and Peter Wilson opposed, citing concerns about the structure's location within both the 35-foot No-Disturb and 50-foot No-Build zones.
Staff confirmed the impacted southern wetland is of poor ecological value. The board also continued a Request for Determination of Applicability for 264 Centre Street to July 9 to conduct a site visit.
