Accessibility Commission recommends Velazquez for full membership

Accessibility Commission · Meeting of January 22, 2026

Danvers Accessibility Commission unanimously votes to advance Aimee Velazquez to full membership. Chair J.D. Martz will forward the formal recommendation to the Town Manager; the 3-0 vote elevated her from alternate status.

The commission secured $500 each in HRIC mini-grant funding for the Fight for 504 Film Festival and a Human Library project, with an additional $2,000 anticipated from parking violations. The board ranked film submissions and selected the anxiety-focused entry as top choice. Planning for the Human Library event at the Danvers Senior Center targets three to five participants as "books" for 15-minute conversations.
